Hunts Point and the nearby communities of White Point,
Summerville Centre and Port Mouton offer convenience
stores, an art gallery, craft shop and restaurants.
Liverpool and area is home to all sorts of retail stores, two
large grocery stores, pharmacies, service stations, a liquor store,
and a full service post office. As well, a hospital with 24
hour emergency service, dentists, optometrist, and a chiropractor
are available. There are many good restaurants and fast food
outlets in the area. If you require the services of a realtor,
lawyer, or accountant, or if you want to check out the local
library, they are only 20 minutes away in Liverpool. The RCMP
detachment provides policing services to the entire area.
Entertainment & Recreation
There are a host of recreational opportunities available in
the immediate area - including ocean kayaking, surfing, golf, boat
tours, fishing, birding, hiking, beach-combing, swimming...
The white sand beaches at Hunts Point, Summerville, and Carter's
Beach are beautiful and uncrowded.
Liverpool is the "Town of Museums" - plan a visit to one or more
of our museums - Queens County Museum, Perkins House Museum, Hank
Snow Country Music Centre, Sherman Hines Museum of Photography, the
museums of the Rossignol Cultural Centre, Milton Blacksmith Shop,
Fort Point Lighthouse Museum.
The Astor Theatre presents film, live theatre, and music events
year-round.
There are many special events and festivals held in the area
throughout the spring and summer. Privateer Days, Queens
County Seafest are two of the big ones, but don't forget the small
ones like the community suppers and garden
